I would personally like to thank Little Read Riding Hood and Creative Deeds Reads for orchestrating all this Indie-Love! If you love a good book blog, you should be following both of these sites daily!
Each day in September, an indie author has the spotlight, and today is our day! We are so excited to host our friend, Felicia Tatum, the incredible indie-author of Mangled Hearts and the White Aura Series: The White Aura, The Vessel and Devlin’s Descendant – which will be released on Sept 27!
Felicia’s popular novel, The White Aura, is free on Amazon. You should go get it. NOW! Here’s a blurb to get you started:
The White Aura….
How do you live with the gut clenching truth that the one you love will die if you meet them? Twenty year old sorcerer Scott Tabors is learning how. After seeing seventeen year old Olivia Whitehead outside of a coffee shop, his heart will never be the same. He longs for her, he wants her, and he knows she will be his. They are heart mates. …but due to a curse on his family, he can’t meet her. Not yet. So for now, he visits her in her dreams. Her dreams where he can tell her everything but his name.
Olivia Whitehead is a typical junior in high school. She and her best friend are having the time of their lives, but she can’t help but notice the changes happening to her. Especially the changes in her heart after she begins dreaming about a mysterious dark haired young man. But what will happen when the school heartthrob decides he wants Olivia? Will she realize the dream man is real or will she move on?
The Indie-Credible Tour was designed to highlight independent authors. The Book Beacon had the pleasure of interviewing Felicia for this Blog Tour…
Why did you choose to write in your particular field or genre? If you write more than one, how do you balance them? I love paranormal romances, so I figured, “hey, why not write one!” and then the Contemporary Romance just kind of came to me after a lot of thinking.
Where did your love of books/storytelling/reading/writing/etc. come from? My mom loves books. I’ve always loved books. Writing just came natural to me around age 12.
What is the biggest thing that people THINK they know about your subject/genre, that isn’t so? With the contemporary, I think everyone expects lots of sexy stuff, and I don’t think that’s all it is. And for the paranormal…I dunno. Lots of people think paranormal should be long and detailed, but I like writing the shorter installments to keep people guessing!
What inspires you? My daughter!
Who are some of your favorite authors that you feel were influential in your work? What impact have they had on your writing? Every author I come in contact with has inspired me in some way. They all are so amazing, each of us on our own journeys, yet doing this together. Allie Mousseau, Sarah Cradit, and Keeley Smith have made me work so much harder, longer, and I’m doing more than I thought possible with their support.
What process did you go through to get your book published? I’m a self published author, aka indie. I did a lot of research and after I got a cover, went through editing, and all that fun stuff, I finally uploaded it to all the available channels. It was a long process, but it’s a little shorter each time. Now that I know how to do it!
What makes your book stand out from the crowd? I think my covers draw in attention, and I write in multiple POVs…in all my works. I really like getting into both characters heads, sometimes more, and I think people like that.
What do you like to read in your free time? Oh gosh…paranormal romance, contemporary romance, anything romance, really.
What projects are you working on at the present? I’m gearing up for a release on the 27th, the third White Aura book. I have a NA novella coming out next month, part of the Intoxicating Passion series, titled Masked Encounters. I’m working on a holiday surprise and the second Scarred Hearts book as well!
