Arguments welcome. Corrections especially welcome — they get printed.
The best letters tell me where a review went wrong and why, with the page you are thinking of. The second best recommend a book and say what it is for. I read everything and reply to a good deal of it, slowly.

Corrections
If a title, an author’s name or a publication fact is wrong on this site, say so and it will be fixed and noted. Nothing on these pages is quoted from a book unless it is marked as a quotation, and the sentences pulled out on the front page are mine, from the reviews — not the authors’.
Review copies
Send them if you like. It buys nothing but a place in the stack, and the stack is long. I do not run blurbs, and I do not tell publishers what I think before the piece goes up.
